Splitting the issues between underclass students and upperclass students in the BFA program, I created two categories: a curriculum change and a program environmental change. The curriculum change is a focus on students building skillsets to network with other artists and museums to help build their career and understanding ways to present/pitch their projects for grants. The environmental change would be ways for students to build their presence on campus and online. It is to have a platform to build relationships with other students on campus and have prospective students view the projects students created so far. This would help resolve the problem with student expectations versus the curriculum, and help new students understand the type of program CMU’s School of Art offers.
