For my competitive analysis on TED, I looked at three companies — Talks at Google, PechaKucha, and IdeaCity. I looked at the similarities and differences in their mission statement, focus, inclusivity, and presentation style. From these value sets, I was able to conclude which companies were more sustainable in inclusivity and why the organization is able to sustain it. PechaKucha is committed to including everyone in their talks because of their low ticket prices ($10 to $15) as well as the availability of choices for audiences. Different types of speakers are welcomed, and the thoughts they share does not have to be focused on sharing great ideas. The company feels much more liberal than the other competitors although at times it seems less formal. I would argue to my boss or client about PechaKucha’s ability to include a diverse group of individuals and ideas as a sustainable, inclusive option than what is present in TED today. To help organize my research, I created a comparison analysis chart on all four value sets.
